Jeep OBD-II Specific Trouble Codes

This guide is for troubleshooting your Jeep engine codes. Why pay a mechanic a few hundreds bucks when you can find out whats going on with your Jeep in a few minutes. Keep in mind this doesn't always resolve the problem but for the most part if you have an error code come up look on the chart below and it will tell you what error your OBD-II computer had. Often times simply replacing the sensor or selonoid will fix your problem.

If you have a check engine light on then perform the following proceedure to get the error code(s) from your digital read out.

Step 1. While pushing the trip odometer reset button on your gauge cluster (hold down) while you turn the key to the 'on' position. (Don't turn the Jeep on, thats too far.) Your gauges and lights will flicker and move a few times and then your digital read-out will display the codes.

Step 2. Write these down and check the chart below. (let me know if you have any questions.)
